Food Food and More Food!!
So besides the obvious attractions and atmosphere here in Vegas, one of the most sought after experiences is food! It'd most definitely be a waste if I don't take the time documenting all the food venues out here.
Food being an ongoing experience here in Vegas I thought instead of doing separate blog posts for each experience, I'll keep adding on to this page indefinitely!

Day 1-2
September 29th -30th
Restaurant: Le Thai
This restaurant right outside of the Fremont Street experience honestly delivered one of the best experiences we've ever had at a restaurant. In fact it was so good we had to back 3 meals in a row. The wait was not too bad and the dinning setting was fantastic.
The back room dining area is fitted with a giant water sprouted that acts like an AC. The water is instantly evaporated when it comes in contact with the hot air lowering the dining room temperature to about 25 degrees Celsius, a refreshing temperature mimicking the natural climate of Southeast Asia.
The Food at Le Thai is out of this world!
Before even ordering the server brings a bowl of spicy peanuts that act as a great appetizer. The peanuts were roasted then tossed in natural Thai Spices preparing your pallets for the hot and spicy mains to come.
Meal one I ordered Their special Awesome Noodles with chicken and an egg, while Jenny ordered a Pad Thai with shrimp.
< Curry on the left
Fried Rice on Right >
The Green Curry was milky and creamy blending perfectly with their spices. I ordered it at a 4/5 spiciness and it was spot on, The vegetables were portioned in a very balanced manner along with the chicken and the rice was just enough to hit the spot. I have to say this was one of the best meals I've had to date. The short ribs fried rice was fantastic as well, the raw egg on top was definitely a great call. The ribs were not overcooked that it became dry, yet it was cooked thoroughly enough for the flavor to seep in.
So here's another look at the green curry on the right!
Obviously this added a need for a 3rd visit.
This time I ordered their specialty 3 colored curry, while Jenny again stuck with the fried rice, something about that last meal she just couldn't get over.
This curry was a blend of all their curries, yellow, red and green. It was mildly spicy and although had all the vegetables you can possibly imagine. It was nowhere as good as the green curry alone. I guess it was greedy of me to want it all.
Don't get me wrong though it was still an amazing dish, no complaints there, just a little short of my expectations after yesterday's green curry.
Another thing this place is really great at is their portions. For 15 dollars you can easily make two meals out of any of their dishes. I think for Jenny she could've had 5 meals for one dish.
The take out box was extremely cute and the pattern on the box will forever be classically conditioned to me as breakfast.
To close off this feature I have to
give credit to this Thai Ice Coffee, besides being an ideal refreshment the caffeine slowly unfurls its splendor powering me through one of the longest days in my life.
To be honest, although both dishes were prepared flawlessly, they weren't exactly at the standard I was expecting them to be. The Noodles simply stir fry with a bit of their specialty sauce, it satisfied my craving for asian noodles but it didn't really blow me away. The Pad Thai was the same, the spice level was satisfactory but it wasn't exactly out of this world.
Instead, what made us return to this place again for another meal was this guy here on the right.
This is a Thai Chai Tea, its distinct taste washes away the spiciness of the dishes in a refreshing manner. To me it reminds me of a mix between a Cantonese milk tea and a Vietnamese Ice Coffee.
The condense milk on top slowly sinks sweetening the drink as you sip contrasting the spices that builds up on your palette as you work away at your main.
Meal Two was absolutely stunning, I ordered a Green Curry and Jenny Ordered the Short Ribs Fried Rice with a raw egg on top.

Day 3
October 1st
Restaurant: Therapy
To start, as the name suggests, this dining experience was truly therapeutic for me. As soon as you walk in, the interior design screams hipster/west coast/ bay area. Moving to Vegas what I missed most about silicon valley was the co-working startup culture. This restaurant fulfilled just that nostalgia I needed to keep on going.
The waitress was extremely thoughtful taking the time going over every dish on the menu and why or why not we might like some more than the others. This was even more thoughtful given the uniqueness of their menu.
If the image is too blurry to see you can easily find their content here on yelp
We ordered the Big "Sexy" Burger to share along with their fire roasted street corn.
We also ordered their Ice Tea which was surprisingly addicting, I had at least 3 glasses.
First off The Burger!
The burger was gigantic with a 9 oz patty, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, cheese and their specialty sauce. It definitely hit the spot, but it was nothing too special besides the way they melted the cheese. IT WAS AWESOME
< -- That melted cheese was worth every dollar
The burger came with fries, I believe they were yukon gold, not bad but nothing special.
What was truly gold about this meal was the corn, I have no idea how they did it. It was fire roasted and was naturally sweet and citrus kissed. No other way to describe this than a mouth orgasm. Would go back again just for this.
Overall the experience of therapy was very good, the food was not as good as Le Thai, but the atmosphere and service definitely made up for it.
100% would recommend.
I will definitely be back to try some of their more exquisite cuisines like the ox tail and the tar tar.

Day 3

October 1
Restaurant: Itsy Bitsy: Ramen and Whiskey
Not sure if you can see the menus here.
but the left shows the different ramen ingredients and also outlines the whisky of choice you can pick to be your pairing.
Whisky shown to the right
I ordered a Tokotsu(pork bone) soup based ramen with thick
noodles with extra ingredients of corn and spicy meat. I also added the Macallan 12yrs as my whisky pairing, and it definitely made the meal complete. Jenny ordered a Salmon Teriyaki Rice bowl and a lychee tini.
The salmon Bowl shown on the right was great except the over-flooding beansprout definitely diluted the taste.
The Ramen on the other hand in all honesty could be more flavorful. The soup base was not very authentic, but I am very very picky about my Ramen.
I think the Whisky Pairing definitely saved the experience.
This was one of the pricier meals and I definitely expected a little more. I say a 3 stars for food and uniqueness.
Now I know this does not look appetizing whatsoever, but trust me, this was one of the best meals I've had. The chicken marinated in cheese sauce melts in your mouth, and the pasta was definitely cooked to a perfect balance of chewy and soft. Sometimes restaurants tend to overcook the pasta and make them super soggy, I was surprised even when I got home It was still hot and ready to go!
Ramen and Whiskey, two of my favorite things how can I not go in? Funny thing was Jenny called them very innovative thinking they put the Whiskey in the Ramen as an ingredient. We stumbled upon this place while looking for Ramen, best part is its a ten second walk away from home. I think the best part about living at a resort is that the food and restaurants are all less than 30 seconds away.
within seconds of walking into this restaurant, you can feel the difference in style and culture from the rest of Vegas. The flashy neon lights fade into the background and the more oriental and traditional Japanese wooden furniture begin to take prominence. Aside from that their choice of artwork and paintings are definitely something else. I don't think I have any other words to describe them besides "daring".
The dining setting was relaxed in general, given we went at almost midnight.
One thing I noticed was that the chairs were alternating in red and gold colors, not sure if there was a meaning behind this or that it just happened to be so.
The food here was excellent, although I am most likely biased because of their 20 dollars Ramen and Whiskey Pairing deal.
we started with pot stickers, they were shaped quite uniquely and was definitely a great start to the meal.

Day 6
October 4
Restaurant: Brio Tuscan GrilleOctober 4
Today I had to go all the way to Las Vegas TownSquare, a beautiful luxury mall about 20 minutes away from downtown to do a little fix up for my computer at the apple store. While I wait I came across a gorgeous looking Italian restaurant. Talk about going above and beyond for setting and design, inside the restaurant was filled with decorations that rivals Ceaser's Palace making the living up to its namesake Brio, which means lively in Italian. The outside patio was even more so accentuated by the lovely weather of Las Vegas. The service was excellent and the northern Italian food they serve was definitely authentic (at least to me).
Jenny being away fundraising leave me with less food here to feature, so I'll add a little more text to compensate.
An interesting touch to their menu was the "The Lighter Side of Tuscany" section. For health conscious individuals and calorie counters, they did the work for you.
Myself I ordered a Sausage & Roasted Tomato Pasta, a Rustic artisan-style pasta with chili flake, broccolli, rosemary, parmasen, toasted bread crumbs and of course, spicy Italian Sausage and freshly cut tomatoes.
Overall I was extremely pleased with the dish, it was drizzled with virgin olive oil, but didn't feel overly greasy, the flavor from the sausage definitely was absorbed by the pasta naturally blending with the juice from the tomatoes and spice from the rosemary. The texture was Al Dente, at first firm and a toothsome but soft and silky as you bite into it.
Definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to just relax and have a momentary getaway to Italy.
Here's another look at the pattio |

Day11
October 9
Restaurant:Rock'N'oodlesOctober 9
Today I had a meeting with Rasters, a Dev shop in town that just happens to be by the Art District. After a morning of meetings and art attack I decide just have lunch within the district. That's when I stumbled upon this little place in the side corner. It was in a very unfortunate location, but that did not stop the enthusiasm of the owner nor his employees at all!
The setting of the restaurant was as the name suggests, very rock'n'roll themed, with all the famous album covers from Queen to Pink Floyd. The music played in the store was classic rock as well, giving a very special vibe to this little noddle shop.
The owner was super nice, very excited to have customers coming in, and you can definitely tell his passion for both noodle making and rock music making the experience even more thrilling.
The menu was super creative can truly capture all the text on the
menu, but it ranges from Asian Fusion, to Italian pasta, with very experimental sounding names for all of them.
What I really liked was that even though there were so many varieties across the board, the ingredients used were all unique, no laziness and cross over here on the menu. Again truly tell that the chef is really into stirring up his noodles in a very experimental fashion.
Today I got the half portion Turning Japanese, which was essentially a Pad Thai mixed with traditional japanese stir fry.
It was very filling surprisingly, the peanuts definitely added great texture to the already flavorful taste. It was however not too out of the ordinary to me, delicious, but not jaw dropping.
However, because of its uniqueness I thought I'd give it another shot and try something different for dinner, so I ordered the Sweet Home Alibama to go.
Very satisfied with this place, will definitely come back again to try all the other stuff!!

Day 14
October 12
Restaurant:GoldSpikeOctober 12
So I'm definitely not giving this place enough credits, sometimes you forget the beauty at home, when you're busy exploring your new environment. This is home, the Gold Spike, food 24/7 great pool, great facility, great staff, awesome parties.
I really should give this place a lil head nodd. The food here is absolutely amazing, never fails to disappoint. Those of you who know me understand I usually work all through the night, and often find myself starving at 3: 30- 4 :00 am ... now when that happens anywhere other than Vegas, I starve. But here at the goldspike, I simply go downstairs and theres always a warm meal ready to go. And its not just some heated food, its real food prepared by real chefs.
So far, I've had the chicken strips, the phili Cheese Steak, Wings, and the Steak. Now I won't post pictures of any of those, cause they look the same as any other pub food place....Except the steak
This 7 oz steak may not look like a lot, but it always hits the spot. Especially since it's only 10 dollars! The chef takes amazing care of the meat making sure to hit a perfect medium rare everytime.
Bravo from me;)
Anyways just thought i'd give my acknowledgement to home sweet home ;)..even if its temporarily
